Our wonderful family was able to experience their first Wild game together. They enjoyed dinner at the St. Paul Grill before the game. At the game dad was able to sit on the MN Wild bench as a Bench Buddy and live out one of his childhood dreams of being a pro hockey player.
Our special mom and her two boys were granted the wish to sit on the Timberwolves bench at the Oklahoma City game on January 10th. A huge THANK YOU to the Timberwolves for the great experience and for Kieran's Irish Pub for donating the dinner for the family.
A stretch limo picked up the boys at school and they were able to have fun driving around with cousins. Upon arrival at Kieran's Irish Pub for dinner, they got a bag of Timberwoles swag, including t-shirts and claws!
Mom, boys and uncle were down on the floor for the pregame warmup against Oklahoma.
The boys enjoyed cheering on the Timberwolves from nice and close!
Our special family of 6 was granted the wish to go to Duluth at Christmastime. They visited Bentleyville, the Duluth Aquarium and enjoyed a stay at the Canal Park Lodge.
Our special family of with twin girls was granted the wish to see the Glensheen Mansion at Christmastime! A huge thank you to the Inn on Lake Superior for donating a night's stay and Glensheen Mansion for donating tour tickets to our wonderful family.

On Thursday, May 4th HANDF granted a “Mayor for a Day” Nice*Day. Rather than the town where they lived, the dad picked Minneapolis as he grew up there, worked there and it always felt like home to him.
First up was JonnyPops HQ to pick-up some special treats for the family to hand out to workers at City Hall. THANK YOU JonnyPops for providing the JonnyPops to give out. The JonnyPops were delicious and brought smiles to many city workers!
Next stop for “Mayor Dave” and family was handing out JonnyPops at Minneapolis City Hall. The family had a great time putting smiles on workers faces and learning about what each of the departments do.
Next step on Mayor Dave’s tour was the Station 14 firehouse. After playing on the firetruck, Mayor Hodges and Mayor Dave held press conference. Mayor Hodges declared it David Weinlick Day in Minneapolis and named him Mayor for a Day. The event was covered by local media and family, friends and even a protester-in-jest joined the event.
After the conclusion of the press conference, Mayor Dave and family headed down the firepole and went for a ride on a fire truck throughout the neighborhood. Thank you to the Fire Chief and all the firefighters who were wonderful hosts. What a wonderful team the city has taking care of its residents!
Next the family traveled to Mueller Park, a park that Mayor Dave grew up playing in. A big thanks to the Park Board for helping us find space for one more tree in the park. Thanks to the wonderful staff, we all learned about all that is needed to take care of the new spruce that they planted.
Last stop was Giordano’s for a family dinner of Chicago style pizza.
What a wonderful day it was for us. We hope you had a Nice*Day Mayor Dave and family!
"Mayor Dave" held a press conference at Station 14 firehouse in North Minneapolis to speak about the importance of community. KSTP 5, Fox 9 and KARE 11 all had crews out covering the event and remarks from both Mayors. See the Fox 9 news story here: http://www.fox9.com/news/252754597-story and Dave's remarks to Channel 5 below.
Thank you to everyone who came out to the Station 14 firehouse, as well as Mueller Park, to cover this amazing family and wonderful Nice*Day! Have a nice day!
Have a Nice Day Foundation is proud to announce that we have been selected as one of the charity recipients for funds from the Cities 97 Sampler CD. The grant we received will allow us to grant four to eight additional Nice*Days to families fighting cancer. Thanks Cities 97! Have a Nice Day!
The Minneapolis ABC affiliate, KSTP Channel 5, came out to Flying Cloud airport to cover our Nice*Day - Gift of Flight. It was wonderful to have them there to document the experience for our special family. The story rant ran with a live shot during the 6pm news, as well as the morning broadcasts the following day.

Have a Nice Day Foundation just granted our coolest Nice*Day yet - the gift of flight! Our latest Nice*Day family was referred to us by our first Nice*Day recipient - THANK YOU Natasha R. for being a great cheerleader for the Have a Nice Day Foundation!
While the family is from Brainerd, the dad has been traveling to the Twin Cities on a regular basis for treatment at the University of Minnesota. After our initial family phone call, we learned that the dad had previously trained for his private pilot's license and would love to take his family up in the air. What a fun adventure that we couldn't wait to make happen!
The family was able to go up for flights around the Twin Cities at Thunderbird Aviation at Eden Prairie's Flying Cloud Airport. Some of the fun sights they flew near were the U.S. Bank Stadium, Como Zoo, Lake Minnetonka and Paisley Park. In addition, the dad was able to a touch and go at Crystal Airport, where he had previously flown.
A huge thank you to Michael at Southern Touch Photography. He volunteered to drive up from Rochester to document the day by taking wonderful photos. In addition, he is a pilot so it was fun to listen to him engage in "prop talk" with everyone!
Also, thank you to the wonderful pilot at Thunderbird Aviation, Matt, and the great crew who gave the children some fun swag before they left.
A big thank you to KSTP for covering our latest Nice*Day and providing wonderful video footage that the family can look back on forever.
Finally, it was off to the Radisson Bloomington and Waterpark of America for a super fun overnight and an opportunity for the family to relax and make more memories.
It was wonderful spending the day with you, you are in our thoughts and prayers always.
Have a Nice Day!
This week we were thrilled to grant a Nice*Day to our first dad! A longtime fan of international soccer, our Nice*Day family got to "open the gates" at the new stadium and watch teams compete in the International Champions Cup. When an elevator to the seats was broken, the awesome stadium team put our Nice*Day family in a on-field suite right behind the bench! THANK YOU!
In another fun first, our Nice*Day dad made it onto the ESPN broadcast, how fun!
The wide view of the new stadium
We hope you had a wonderful, fun time opening the gates at the stadium.
Have a Nice Day!
Y'all are too sweet! Have a Nice Day Foundation was recognized as a Humble & Kind recipient on BUZN 102.9. As a result, we had two tickets to see Tim McGraw at the Tree Town Music Festival to give away to a mom or dad with cancer. Due to the remote location, we could not find someone to use the tickets but we thank BUZN 102.9 for the recognition and the ability to share our story, in hopes that more people who qualify for Have a Nice Day Foundation's Nice*Days can find us!
Tim McGraw’s “Humble and Kind” has touched fans around the world.
A “pay it forward” message resonates within the song.
We’ve all experienced and witnessed acts of kindness that have “made our day”, now it’s time to SHARE and RECOGNIZE those who “helped the next one in line”.
Who would YOU like to THANK for doing something selfless... for you, or for someone else?
UPDATE: Thanks to the exposure on BUZN 102.9, a local woman realized Have a Nice Day Foundation would be perfect match for her coworker's situation, and as a result the Nice*Day - International Champions Cup happened. Thanks BUZN 102.9 for helping us make a difference in the lives of others!
Have A Nice Day Foundation is excited to announce our latest grant - a Grand View Lodge Getaway. Our special Nice*Day family headed up north to Grand View Lodge in Nisswa, MN for a getaway at the start of spring break. Have A Nice Day Foundation arranged for the family to be greeted with special snacks and water in their room upon arrival, and covered the cost of lodging, activities and food.
The family was able to partake in some of the great activities at Grand View Lodge, including the spa and indoor pool with waterslide. Most of all, they were able to have quiet time together as a family before the next set of treatments began
Thank you to our special family, we hope you had a wonderful time!
A big THANK YOU to our amazing donors who help to make wonderful experiences like this happen for families fighting cancer.
Have a Nice Day!
The latest family referred to Have A Nice Day Foundation has two young girls and immediately we thought of the Disney on Ice performance that was coming to town. When the timing didn't work we tried to think of the next best thing - meeting Anna & Elsa closer to home! Our Nice*Day team had fun picking out special Anna & Elsa dolls, tiaras and wands for our special little princesses and a beautiful bouquet of flowers for the queen!
Our special Nice*Day family had brunch at the Original Pancake House, home of some of the best pancakes in Minnesota.
Finally it was off to the spectacular Ice Castles for a private tour before opening and to meet Anna & Elsa!
Thank you to Ice Castles & Tiny Diva Princess Parties for waiving the entrance fee to Ice Castles for our special family and ESPECIALLY for keeping Ice Castles open on a day it had closed to the public. We really appreciate you helping to make this happen!
Have a Nice Day!
A big THANK YOU to our wonderful donors who responded in full when we put out the call for donations on #GivingTuesday to help fund a holiday lights limousine tour. Thanks to your generosity we were able to grant a Nice*Day - Have A Nice (holi)Day the week of Christmas!
Our Nice*Day family of 5 was picked up in style by a 12-passenger white stretch limousine and was able to see many twinkling holiday lights on their way to downtown Minneapolis for dinner.
Up next was the Capital Grille in Minneapolis for a delicious steak dinner!
A HUGE thank you to Allen Witcher and his team at the Capital Grille Minneapolis for not only wonderful service and amazing food, but graciously donating the entire cost of the meal as well. We are so grateful for Capital Grille's generosity, as saving that expense will allow us to grant another Nice*Day in the near future!
After dinner, it was back into the limo, now stocked with Candyland Chicago mix popcorn, candy and soft drinks, for more holiday lights and sightseeing. The family visited Rice Park, Summit Ave and a special holiday lights display that they try to see every year.
"We had an absolutely amazing evening!
THANK YOU to our special Nice*(Holi)Day family! You put a huge smile on our face and helped us to remember what is most important during this holiday season. Bless you always.

Nice*Day - Taylor Swift
Our special Nice*Day family has had an eventful summer, with mom being diagnosed with thyroid cancer in May and the 14 year old daughter also being diagnosed with thyroid cancer in August.
Thanks to donors like YOU, the family had a wonderful worry-free night out and created memories to last a lifetime.
First up was an interview with KARE11. The daughter was thrilled to be on TV. See the wonderful story featured on KARE11 here:
Next the family took their first Uber (exciting!) to dinner at Kincaid's. Kincaid's had been the mom's parents favorite spot so dinner was extra meaningful.
Finally it was off to the show at the Xcel Energy Center!
The Have A Nice Day Foundation had worked social media in advance of the concert asking Taylor and her dancers to throw extra smiles towards our family in Row 26. It truly felt like Taylor was singing right to them!
It was wonderful to get to see the family relax and 'Shake It Off' with Taylor Swift:
And finally, the family modeling the Taylor Swift tour swag that our donors like you helped to purchase:
"Thank you again so much. My daughter is crying because her heart is so happy and she is touched by what you did for us. I KNOW tonight will give us the boost we need as she does her treatment and isolation this week. God bless you and your beautiful organization."
THANK YOU SO MUCH to our first Nice*Day family. You are forever in our hearts and prayers. We wish you many happy memories and good health.
Have A Nice Day!
